We’ve been working around the clock on an elaborate package design for the forthcoming Yes 3 LP or 2 CD release, Topographic Drama: Live Across America for Rhino. This album is going to be amazing!
We again had the pleasure of working with Roger Dean, who provided design direction for the cover, an amazing painting (one of our all time favorites), and of course, his signature logos and typography. We provided all of the interior graphic design, photography, and handled production, trafficking, and approvals. This was one of the most complex projects we’ve ever worked on for Yes. And doing the complex, multi-gatefold LP cover was a blast. We’ve been doing Yes packages for decades, but this is actually our very first Yes vinyl LP release and what a treat to have such a big “canvas.” We also persuaded the label to include an 8 page booklet to accompany the vinyl release, and the smaller 16-page CD booklet contains all of the same content.
We even got to do custom labels for the LPS:
Here’s a mockup of the CD package:
All of the elements have now gone to press and it won’t be long before the album reaches fans. Topographic Drama: Live Across America will be released in the U.S. and Europe on November 24, 2017.
We were so excited to work on this release (see We’re Back Pt. 2 ). In short: Yes have never sounded better than on the Topographic Drama tour and this promises to be one of the best live albums in the 50 year history of the band. We can’t wait for you to hear it.
